New Project..

I have agreed to make a top for the quilting ladies at my mom's senior center. They will hand quilt it and raffle it off to raise funds for their trips. After much pilfering through my stash, these are the fabrics chosen, what do you think?

These are some of the pets. Bree is the rottweiler, the black cat is Zeppelin, and the calico is Checkers...Checkers, I call "little girl" she's the one that fetches super balls...brings them back every time. If i can figure out how to video and post it, I'll try to get some footage of her fetching.

They are playing with a small top I've almost finished. A girl at work gave me a bag of fabric and scraps that she and her mother had started on several projects and not finished. These are triangles they had cut out, and I cut a few more out of some of the fabric scraps and sewed them together. Here's a partial pic of that one.

(don't pay any attention to the date stamp on these pics-I didn't realize it was on, or I would have put the correct date on there)

another week gone by

...wow, is it me, or has this month been flying by? It appears that I have survived the current round of layoffs. I still feel a bit uneasy, though... I just don't like all the secrecy and hushed comments, and people pulled into meetings, some alone, others in groups, and then there are the few that weren't in any meetings and still don't have a clue what the new plan or direction is...I'm in the latter group.... no clue what's going on, other than "don't worry, we're changing some things around". This is the last of the worry wart postings on this subject....I'm am going to try to move along and get past it.
Time for some therapy quilting! I have a flannel quilt top, batting and back pinned together that will be my first attempt at quilting on my home machine... no.. my second... almost forgot about the leftover stars little lap quilt, but that one doesn't really count, because I didn't realize I was supposed to drop the feed dogs....haha.... I couldn't imagine how I was going to twist and turn a large quilt on that machine like I did the small one..... oh well, it is probably one of many to come "lessons learned" quilts..
I know, no pictures...I'll get some on here eventually. Some of my recent quilt photos were "accidentally" deleted from the memory card in the camera when my husband and son needed to make room for photos they were taking...

about time...

I guess it's about time I write again... sorry for the delay..
It's been a little busy lately, and work has been stressfull. There have been more hours cut, and more layoffs. I hope I survive the slow times . I know I've been trying to keep all my drivers working some hours and hoping they all survive it, too.

Richard and I just came from taking Cricket (my in-laws jack russell terrier) to the vet to get her nails clipped. She wore her pink, heart quilted, jacket..so cute! We hardly had to wait at all, and were in and out of there in 20 minutes. I need to take my big dogs to get clipped and have checkups, and the cats both need their check ups, too..... but I don't think I can manage them all at one time.
Do ever feel like there is just not enought time in the day? I never feel like I'm getting caught up with all that needs to be done.

First day

Well, after much deliberation, I've decided to join the blogging world. I hope this experience will help me be a better communicator to those whom I love and think of often. :)
